The Grateful Gadsby

This is the story about one of the greatest hockey players of all time. Being inducted into The National Hockey League Hall of Fame in 1970 was one of his greatest honors but was also one of so many.

The book is 165 pages and in hardcover with a dust jacket. It contains 32 pages of photos ranging from the year of 1945 up to the year 2002. The forward of the book is done by Gordie and Colleen Howe, Mr. & Mrs. Hockey. If you love hockey, then this is a book to add to your library.

Book Reviews

"Bill Gadsby was a classic hockey player and a class guy."
   Mr. Goalie, Glen Hall

"I've always been a fan, but this book brought forth a lot of information that I was previously unaware of. Great book. I'd recommend it to any fan or collector."
   Tom

"He played his entire career during hockey's golden era. Can you imagine if he were playing today the publicity and recognition he would get for retiring as hockey's all time defensive leader in points, penalty minutes and games played. This is a terrific book and Bill and Edna are both Hall of Fame people."
Dennis Murphy, WHA Founder & author of the book

"Bill Gadsby never received the credit he deserved. He was one of the great defensive hockey players in the history of the league. One of the best players I ever played against."
Hall of Fame center, Milt Schmidt

"In the era of hocley toughness, Gadsby was one of the toughest. I saw his back once, full of belts and bruises and scars from cross-checks and slashes from enemy hockey sticks, and Bill just played on despite."
Jerry Green, Detroit News Writer-Member of Michigan Sports HOF

"Gadsby could play both ends of the ice expertly. He was one of the most versatile, durable and artistic players I ever watched. I have fond memories of my time spent in Ne York with Bill and Edna."
Stan Fischler, Publisher of the Fischler Report and Madison Square Garden Network Analyst

"Bill was a great team player. He played the way you want defensemen to play. He moved the puck, and people in front of the net. He got hit and blocked more shots than most goaltenders."
Emile Francis, Hockey Hall of Fame

"I've given you an untarnished name, keep it that way!"
   William Gadsby Sr., Bill's dad
