Bojibooks.com was launched in December, 2003. It is the dream by Robert J. Thomas, the author of some of the books featured on our new site. The story of Robert J. Thomas is an interesting one in itself. He came from a very poor family and grew up in a neighborhood that some people to this day call shack town. He began working at the Department of Public Service for the City of Westland, Michigan in 1970. He held dozens of various job titles all the way from dog warden to street sweeper. Then, in 1986, he made an important decision in his life. He decided against all odds to run for the position of Mayor of Westland, Michigan in 1989. No one thought he had any chance as he was a simple civil servant with no political background, no money, and no political organization. Running his campaign on sheer fortitude, he was outspent five to one and his campaign workers were outnumbered by ten to one. There was no chance that he could win; so said the political experts. Well, he won that first election for Mayor by a mere 200 votes! He upset the political machinery in Westland. He ran for his first re-election for Mayor in 1993 and the voters reelected him by a record-breaking 65 percent of the votes. His third reelection was similar, winning by an even larger percentage of votes. Robert decided to retire as Mayor in 2002, but before he did, he wrote a book titled "How to Run for Local Office". The reason for his writing this now very successful book was that when he ran his first three campaigns, there was no such material out there that would help the first time runner launch a campaign. He wanted to make sure that those who dove into the political arena for the first time would be able to find the help and advice that he was not able to find when he was campaigning. "How to Run for Local Office" has sold thousands of copies. It is in hundreds of libraries across the nation and is being used by several colleges and universities around the country for political classes. After Robert J. Thomas retired, he began working on an exciting new series of western novels. He grew up loving western movies and western novels and he has created an exciting new character by the name of Jess Williams. The first book of the series, "The Reckoning" is now available on this site and the second in the series of Jess Williams novels, "Brothers Keeper" will be available at boji books in 2004. He plans on writing ten novels in the series and you will be able to find all of them all here at boji books. You will also find other unique and hard to find books here at boji books. One rare book titled "The Grateful Gadsby" is available here. This book is hand signed by the Hockey Hall of Famer, Bill Gadsby and you will not find this book in any bookstore. We also have another book listed here titled "Just Let Me Play". It is the story of the first black PGA golfer, Charlie Sifford. This book is also hand signed by Charlie Sifford. This book is a rare collectible with very few copies available so get yours while they last. When we launched boji books we were aware that there are other authors out there who are having a tough time publishing and selling their books. If you have a book that you would like to list on bojibooks.com you can simply contact us or send us a copy of the book and we will contact you about selling your book on our site. If you have a manuscript of a book that you've written and can't seem to get it published or into production, e-mail us. We may be able to help you get it published or we may even offer to purchase your manuscript. Maybe you have a few boxes of books left that you just want to sell off and we could make you an offer. You can always contact us through bojibooks.com or e-mail us. You will find some links on our site to other interesting sites.
